Salzburg’s is the baroque city at the river Salzach north of the Alps. It attracts many tourists and here they will not come for any big city weekend. Instead they are attracted to cultural experiences. Here are what you can see and do in Salzburg.
Salzburg has about 150,000 inhabitants, and most attractions are located around the old town close to the river Salzach. In addition to the old town the other parts of the city can be quite boring. The advantage of staying at a hotel in the city is the proximity to the attractions around.

In Salzburg, much revolves around Mozart who was born in the city; Statues, Mozart’s house of birth, pastries and more.
Hohensalzburg is one of the largest medieval castles in Europe, located high above the city. At 506 meters above sea level you get from here a fantastic view of the city and landscape.
Cathedral Salzburger Dom
Built in the 1600s in Baroque style, this church is amazing. Salzburger Dom was damaged during World War II bombings, but in 1959 everything was repaired and more beautiful than ever.
Listed as World Heritage by UNESCO, built in 1606. Fantastic garden and popular a place for weddings. Several scenes in the Sound of Music was filmed at this location.
